12/2/08 04:59 pmI had a really satisfying day at work today. We're reorganising the shop (again), so I spent the day moving lots of things about, and being anal about how they were arranged. I like rearranging and reorganising things; I used to move all the furniture in my bed room and hte books on my shelves every couple of years at home. Now I just move house!
I'm having MP3 player ditherings. I need something that has rather more music on it than my current one, and doesn't rearrange the tracks into alphabetical order since I want to put some standup CDs on it, for the round trip next month (my gran won't be home, so Cornwall is off the agenda, but I'mm still spending up to tweve hours on trains). I still want an eco-player, but I honestly can't afford £120 right now. I'm trying to decide between a 2GB Sandisk Sansa Clip for £30, or a 4GB for £60 E260. The 4GB is expandable, with a big colour screen and free music. The 2GB lacks these things, but is, well, half the price. If I get the 4GB, I'll probably want to treat it as my permanent player until I break it (so, for about three months), especially as I can extend it up to 8GB, which seems counter-intuitive when I still want the eco-player (also expandable, I should add). However, since it'll probably be a long time before I can afford the eco-player (i.e. until I get a third job or persuade the museum to take me on full time), it might be worth playing the extra. But I've been fine with 512MB for ages now, so the extra space shouldn't be so much of a lure. Both allow me to search by album or artist, which is the important thing, and both are very well reviewed (and incredibly cheap compared with Creative or iPods)
