let's introduce my family to an idea:

I do not want a car
I do not want to take my theory test yet
I do not want driving lessons
I do not care if you threaten to hold any of these hostage and refuse to pay for them, because I do not give a fuck about learning to drive. If I say that, you will get pissy and upset and point out how much you are paying and how useful a skill it is and how, really, I don't have a choice anyway, though you won't phrase it like that because you will refuse to believe that I can be quite hppy with public transport, and intend to work from home anyway.

telling me you won't buy me a car if I don't apply for my driving test right this minute shouldn't work. I do not want the bloody car. But I have to pretend I do, or you will get angry and want to know why you're wasting all this money on me. And quite frankly, i would like to know that too.

*bangs head against wall*

ther isn't a way out. I could fight with mum and harry, but I don't like doing that, and I'd still end up taking the bloody lessons and bloody test and bloody car. So easier not to fight, but look occasionally sulky.

Seriously: when have I ever expressed a desire to learn to drive? Why do they think i want to? Apparently it's eaier to learn to drive in your teens (I'll give them that, since I can hardly compare) and I'm guessing neither of them got that oppurtunity.

you know what scares me / pisses me off? Soon i'm going to have to start practising with them. i do not ant mum and/or harry in the car with me. Especialyl without an instructor. Maybe if we got a limo, and I could put up a nice sound proof screen.

*continues to bang head on wall, and waits for mother to get back with credit card so I can book this theory test I don't want to take*

Refuse to go to the lessons. That'll get the point across. It sounds more like they want you to do it than the other way around, so you could probably use it for blackmail purposes or somesuch. ^_^

ach, have now booked theory test (thank god for online booking - I could not survive if I had to phone for everything). I know I posted that all of ten minutes ago, but i've calmed down already. It was just the idea of Harry refusing to buy me a car if I didn't book the theory test. Do not give a fuck about a car. Lessons I don't mind - it's the bit where I have to practise and drive mum nad Harry around. I'm thinking of stealing hte insurance forms so they can't insure me on their car ^_^ Which is faling apart anyway, so I hear.
