minervasolo8am. every morning, i wake up at 8am. I haven't been required to wake up at about 8 since I was about 7. So why, now, do i wake up every day at 8am without fail?
some people at ff.n are very scary. Nice, but scary. And have no concept of grammar. Or the fact sentences ought to make sense. And review every chapter in a fic, which is what you'resupposed to do to give well rounded feedback, but when it's a 16 chapter fic, unfinihsed it gets very unnerving to have 16 reviews all from one person, all basically saying the same thing. And keeps flipping between thinking I'm British and American.
I can keep promises and secrets other people ask me to, but I have yet to manage to keep a promise to myself. Like telling mum about the QAF videos and having her freak out because I gave my address to someone online. SHe beleives all of the propaganda about the internet. You know, hte propaganda that says parents should watch everything their kids do and just let the pre-approved visit homework sites and refuse to let them talk to their friends because someone might have hacked into their mate's account and is actually a peadophile, and heaven forbid they should try to make new friends! It's very hard to explain the differences between a chatroom, an instant messenger, a forum and a place like LJ. You talk to people on all of them. As far as most non-internet using adults are concerned, that makes them all evil and full of paedophiles. I'm not saying you won't get pervy old men looking on LJ, or hanging around in a forum, it's just most would rather get the more instant gratification of a realtime chat, in a chatroom, and there are very few kids, no, people in general, now who'd actually meet someone they spoke to in a chatroom. Besides, they know everyone lies. When you're thriteen in a room full of 20 year olds, you tell them you too are twenty. Actually, that must make it quite hard to paedophiles, since in any chatroom anyone under about 16 will be claiming ot be at least 16.
Okay, rant over. It's just, have a little faith, mother, okay? I'm not an idiot. I know more about the internet and how these things work than you do to start with.
