minervasoloI owe whole posts about holidays and so on, but the bf and I are currently playing "crew your imaginary spaceship" after seeing Prometheus a few days ago and I wanna share.
Captain Me
Second in Command: Ripley (Alien)
Pilot: Leela (Futurama)
Engineer: Kaylee (Firefly)
Medical Officer: Dr Bones (Star Trek - the new film)
'Security': Jet Black (Cowboy Bebop)
AI: GERTY (Moon)
Robots: Scutters (Red Dwarf)
My crew will have the dullest adventures possible, in which they fly sensibly, arrive places on time, and never break quarantine laws. And they'll all live happily ever after as a result.

Second in Command: Ripley (Alien)
Pilot: Wash (Firefly)
Engineer: Kaylee (Firefly)
Science Officer: Corazon (Sunshine)
Medical Officer: Rory (Dr Who)
Handyman: Christopher Johnson (alien from District 9)
Robot: Eve (Wall-e) & R2D2 (Star Wars)
The bf wanted a more diverse crew in terms of species, which means his list is a little longer. Also, he didn't want anyone from Star Trek, which leaves you surprisingly short of sci fi doctors that aren't completely nuts. He couldn't think of a good brawn guy/gal, so it's pretty much a team of nice, sensible people, who are all going to get shot dead.
I did consider an all female crew: Ripley, Leela, Kaylee, Martha Jones (Dr Who), Private Vasquez (Aliens), Ed (hacker from Cowboy Bebop) & Eve. The bf thinks it should be Starbuck rather than Leela, what with the advantage of depth perception, but I feel Starbuck is more of a maverick fight pilot rather than sensible cargo ship pilot, and I fear she'd get the rest of the crew killed. Or just punch some of them.
