20/7/03 03:31 pmFictionAlley.org is evil. I didn't even know I liked HP fanart til i found it, and now I'm spending long amounts of time ooh and ahhing over pictures of malfoy. ^_____^ The picture on the site entrance alone is enough to make me smile. Even if you don't like HP, they're still worth looking at.
Draco fanart forum

Site tends to go down a lot. Can't get in to look at more pics just now. :(
I have discovered: when you want escapism, original ficiton is much better than fanfiction. I'm completely not in hte mood to write fanfics at the mo, but origfic - writers block has wandered off and I'm happily chugging along again. I'm having much contemplation on the issue of scope. I wrote an essay on Science Fiction, but it's only recently struck me how much scope there is in it, compaired with pretty much any other genre. You have to tell the reader eveything: you need econimcs, politics, history, geography, physcics, biology, chemistry... the whole kit and kaboodle. Most genres work on hte assumption that it'sa ll familiar, but sci fi, and to an extent, fantasy, have to tell you everything. Watching Star Trek: First contact and 'After they were famous' (the whole cast hated each other, it's most amusing) I suddenly got this. All got sudden urge to read Cyberpunk and dystopian novels, just for a bit of dark and gritty. Went out and bought some novels by William Gibson, who wrote Neuomancer, arguably the first cyberpunk novel.
I need to get rid of some books. In less than a fortnight I hav acquired about 15 new books, and my shelves were already full with overflowing before!
