Anyone wanna come over for a boardgame evening tomorrow night? I've (we've, but I'll be the only one here) got Scrabble and Taboo, and backgammon. Any other contribution will be appreciated. I also have many party nibbles.

Yeah, actually - that'd be great. I have Risk, Monopoly, and even chess Any preference?

I've never played Risk; I've always been curious about it. Monopoly is a good bet too (though it can go on for ever). Chess depends on whether anyone else is coming.

Yeah, that's pretty much what I thought. Plus, chess has a tendency to be too serious. I'm not very good at chess, I enjoy it sometimes, but not when someone who takes it very seriously is wiping the floor with me. I will bring Risk and Monopoly, which are two of my very favourite games, even though many people complain that they both suffer from being too long and having unsavoury ethical overtones. Personally, I don't see anything wrong with games about taking over the world or capitalist superiority ;-p
