zombie_thing and I observed earth hour (well, earth hour and a half, and my laptop is currently the biggest electricity consumer / source of light we have on). It was fun, but it's very hard to find things to do when it's dark inside and out. With ten candles lit, he successfully read and I successfully wrote, but it wasn't ideal (to be honest, we were manaigng with one each, but it was better with many - the main thing that helped was opening hte curtains, since we have a streelight immediately outside).

Conclusion: we need more candles.

Anyway, if earth hour hasn't reached you yet, go for it! It is doable.
