This may have something to do with the fact I answered 'Don't care' for most things, but 'like' for some creative stuff.

Hello, please forgive me for interrupting your lj thread with something not linked, but [personal profile] ultharkitty said
a) that you are a very nice person I would like :) and
b) that you sold some comics recently on eBay.

I am thinking about selling some comics, and just wondered if I could ask how you found eBay - did you get quite a lot of interest, and did they sell well? Is there anywhere else you can sell comics, or is eBay it?

Hope you got lots of money for 'em, and hope you don't mind me friending you on [personal profile] ultharkitty's reccomendation!

Sam x

Nice to meet ya ^_^

eBay is pretty good, but it really depends on what comics you're trying to sell. I've got some that I've tried several times to get rid of, and no luck, while others have gone really quite nicely.

It's best to keep the prices really low (I go for 49p for a single comic, and work up from there depending on what it is), but the postage reasonable. You're not likely to make a lot of money, unless it's something you know people want. If you have lots of random issues, lump them in together and hope someone sees something in there that they're willing to pay for all of them for.

Advertise on lj communities. When I've had large runs of certain series, I've found I can sometimes get more just trying to sell them straight off on lj, without bothering with eBay, but it doesn't always work. Just let people know you're selling things (prefarably with scans or cover shots, so people who aren't interested don't complain, and people who are can see what they might be getting) - eBay is a big place, and a lot of stuff gets overlooked.

Um, yeah. Anything else you wanted to know?

Oh, that's really useful. Thank you so much!
One last question - any particular lj comunities?
I have never really explored them (to my shame!)

Depends which comics - do a search on the title of the comics your selling, i.e. Teen Titans, X-Men, Fables etc. Most comics will have at least one community dedicated to them, some have more general communities. If you have a scanner, [livejournal.com profile] scans_daily is pretty good, since you can scan good bits of the comics and then point out that they're for sale.
