This it utterly giggleworthy for any Who watcher.

I sat and watched a documentary about Nanny of the Maroons last night (I sat and watched a lot of documentaries last night). I found myself severely creeped out that throughout history at school, the abolition of slavery was presented as Britain's idea. Like there was nothing that led up to it, except a general feeling of national guilt. How incredibly white-centric is our history? And I didn't even see it until now, except in a more general sense. Part of it, in this case, seems be hte usual reticence at admitting we got our arses handed to us, but pretending that the slaves did nothing to procure their own freedom? That we decided it for them because we're just that good? Christ on a bike.

Today, I shall mostly be reading the Blazing World, and going to get money off the SU, and maybe going to key texts. And also appreciating the fact that I did not wake up at either 7 or 6 o'clock in the morning (6 actually being 5, after clocks changed).

Does that mean the SU are open today? If so, I may well go over and see about getting a socs account for writing group.
