2/3/07 06:00 pmI am, actually, all things considered, having a fairly good day. I've done a stack of reading for my essay for this term, which I know I'm going to enjoy writing. If you skim down to the bottom of here, you can read some of the short stories by the person I want to write on. I'll almost certainly be including the Screwfly Solution and The Women Men Don't See.
All that aside, I am still going to demand your praise and adoration for my mediocre artistic skills. XP

Originally, this was meant to be my in five/ten years time. Apparently I'll be wearing exactly the same clothes then as I am now and have the same haircut and glasses, but my legs will be half a foot longer and my waist several inches smaller.
It gives you an idea of how I think I look (though I do the legs thing to every person I draw). I am aware that I am not as tall and slim as my mental image of myself is, which screws up self portraits even further. I'm more of a sort of blocky shape - if I lost weight I might have slightly more of a waist, but in general, from face on, I just go straight up and down. I have some curves sideways, but that's as much my stomach as my breasts. But my mental picutre of myself does default to something like the above, and in some ways that's a good thing, and in some ways it's not.
I'm going to go through my writing group notebook at some point, and scan all of the sketches I like. Biro/mechanical pencil and lined paper is apparently my favourite medium. Read: the only one I feel competnent enough to work with.
