Bit of a post spammy day
6/2/07 09:19 pmI am having major stufflust, sparked off by that phone ad ("Just Another Diamond Day..."). I can't afford any of it, obviously, but I'm going to try and be good this month, and it's a short month, so hopefully I'll be able to get Rome and Just Another Diamond Day (and maybe one of the books) at the end of it. I almost never feel a strong desire to buy music.
Reccomend things. I want to add more to that list. More shiny things. Amazon is currently failing me (Yes, dear Amazon, I know I like anime, and Eva Cassidy, and victorian novels, but, as I say, I already know that).
ETA: Especially Doctor Who, and music. I'm alright for books, and can't really justify more DVDs. Well, not many more... ^_^
Also (to prevent me from making another post in about five minutes), I'm cold. I've got two pairs of socks on, and two t-shirts, a jumper and a fleece. The day started with a forty-five minute wait for the bus (not true, a twenty minute wait for the bus, to see it go sailing passed, followed by a five minute wait for a bus that terminated before my stop, followed by a twenty minute wait for the bus that would actually take me to the school I'm helping at), which mostly made me grateful that I had taken the time to blow dry my hair, instead of leaving it wet. Had a nice chat with another woman waiting.
The kids were great tday - I made a pont of working with those I don't usually, but I did find myself eyeing the clock as closely as they were. Not bored, exactly, just easily distracted. The year tens don't need much help, the year eights have the occasional question but ot always enough to keep me busy, and the year nines (so much fun, even if I do almost get in trouble every time I start chatting to them) mostly just need keeping on task. It's still all fun though, and I'm getting into the swing of things. The head of IT is a really nice guy.

Date: 6/2/07 11:41 pm (UTC)Hmmm musically... Thea Gilmore I love very much, 'Avalanche' is especially good. Since you love Eva Cassidy you might like the acoustic stuff best, but I think that's the most all-round representative of her albums. Josh Ritter is also amazing although in a slightly more folk-y way. Mountain Goats and I Am Kloot are also very good.
