I am having major stufflust, sparked off by that phone ad ("Just Another Diamond Day..."). I can't afford any of it, obviously, but I'm going to try and be good this month, and it's a short month, so hopefully I'll be able to get Rome and Just Another Diamond Day (and maybe one of the books) at the end of it. I almost never feel a strong desire to buy music.

Reccomend things. I want to add more to that list. More shiny things. Amazon is currently failing me (Yes, dear Amazon, I know I like anime, and Eva Cassidy, and victorian novels, but, as I say, I already know that).

ETA: Especially Doctor Who, and music. I'm alright for books, and can't really justify more DVDs. Well, not many more... ^_^

Also (to prevent me from making another post in about five minutes), I'm cold. I've got two pairs of socks on, and two t-shirts, a jumper and a fleece. The day started with a forty-five minute wait for the bus (not true, a twenty minute wait for the bus, to see it go sailing passed, followed by a five minute wait for a bus that terminated before my stop, followed by a twenty minute wait for the bus that would actually take me to the school I'm helping at), which mostly made me grateful that I had taken the time to blow dry my hair, instead of leaving it wet. Had a nice chat with another woman waiting.

The kids were great tday - I made a pont of working with those I don't usually, but I did find myself eyeing the clock as closely as they were. Not bored, exactly, just easily distracted. The year tens don't need much help, the year eights have the occasional question but ot always enough to keep me busy, and the year nines (so much fun, even if I do almost get in trouble every time I start chatting to them) mostly just need keeping on task. It's still all fun though, and I'm getting into the swing of things. The head of IT is a really nice guy.

I recommend bands:

Yeti, Mountain Goats, Emilie Autumn, Beans on Toast (an acquired taste), Cut Chemist (definitely an acquired taste), 65daysofstatic, Death Cab For Cutie, Al Stewart, Cherry Poppin' Daddies, Bang On!, Beirut, Great Big Sea, Letters to Cleo, Jamie T, Nathan Caswell, Misty's Big Adventure, Larrikin Love, Sunset Rubdown, Flipron ...

Also, the album you really really cannot live without is Rogue's Gallery.

Rogue's Gallery, the pirate album? Or have I found the wrong one. Because I'm definitely getting the pirate album. And the Burlesque one Amazon seems to think is good with it. Not sure of their logic, but it works for me.

Ooh, and I actually have some Great Big Sea. I feel all coolnstuff for actually recognising a band name there ^_^

Yup, the pirate album. It is awesome and Good Ship Venus is the most disgusting and brilliant song I've ever heard sung to a shanty tune.

Quite a bit, I think. Mostly because it has Susan in it, and I love the internal continuity of that. Who doesn't reference itself too often, probably because of it's age and the sheer number of characters. Plus, the idea that Tom Baker is just a cardboard cut out amuses me.

So, ten quid's much? Is that a good much?

Have you read 'Sandman'? Or... hmm they might not have The Kryptonite Kid, which is one of my favourite books and which I always want to recommend to everyone.

Hmmm musically... Thea Gilmore I love very much, 'Avalanche' is especially good. Since you love Eva Cassidy you might like the acoustic stuff best, but I think that's the most all-round representative of her albums. Josh Ritter is also amazing although in a slightly more folk-y way. Mountain Goats and I Am Kloot are also very good.

I've read random tpb's of Sandom, the fourth and last, I think. Obviously not the best way to go about it. I know they're good, and I'd like to read them at some point, the cost of the whole set tends to look a little prohibitive.

I do alike acoustic music, but I like pretty much everything else too. I shall definitely have a poke for the music you reccommend.

I too suffer from stufflust, the X-Files season five box set almost broke me today. I order it and the X-files movie briefly today and then had another thought and canceled it. I will have it at some point...You can always justify more dvds!

Hello, 'tis Cupati, whom you friended. From our mutual friends list, I have a catergory of people you could be, but to be honest, I've no idea who you are. If you've told me somewhere else, I apologise, I'll get to it eventually.
