I've not really updating enough at the mo. Especially not when I've been all excited, because I saw royalty the other day ^_^ Princess Anne went to have lunch at the Merchant Adventurer's Hall (yes, it's called that, and dammit if I don't hear it in a silly announcer's voice every time I read the name), whichis why there were police dotted about all over the place. I'm not a monarchist, but I'm not anti-monarchy either. Most of my excitement came from "Ooh, someone famous", and it fizzled out quite quickly when she didn't even bother wave ::pouts::

What else have I been doing? I think I'm almost done with Christmas presents, which is good. I might start wrapping tonight. Naturally, I've bought big bulky things for everyone back home, which is going to make the trains entertaining.

The internet's being very slow at the moment. Grr.

Finally, i actually have time to read non course stuff (well, while I'm not at work, and before I start my next essay and reading for next term...) I think I'm going to have to take the laptop home, since I've promised various people various things. I won't have internet on it, of course, but maybe that'll mean I actually get stuff done!

It looks like the seminar trip has been moved, so we're having the seminar and a trip. This could be very awkward if she wants to put it at a time I'm working, which, in all honesty, is very probable. However, since a lot of people will have other things on, such as language classes, I suspect she's going to have trouble sorting this out. I don't know if she can mark us down for not going to something outside of scheduled hours. Probably, but since I'm possibly the only person with a full attendance record this term, I'm not too fussed.

It's Merchant Adventure's Hall at the front but Hell round the back. It makes me wonder what its like inside.

I've actually met Princess Anne (she's chancellor of the University of London).

She's very nice in a polite sort of ironic way, and thought shadowkittracey was very funny. She had probably been as bored as we were during the Convocation, but she has the prettiest academicgown ever!

Cool. I wwas told she's known for her outfits, and I suspect you're right about the bored thing. I imagine Royalty spend a lot of time bored out of their mind.

Honestly, it's the prettiest academic gown ever. it's got gold thread and embroidery and was only shown up the University Orator's shiny purple and gold satin number.
