Pimms!

Just been at village fete. Much love for village fete, and villageness in general. My ex oncecommented on hte fact I lived in a village with a ghighstreet and village shops, since he'd never been to one before. I could never stand to live on a housing estate. Even though I know almost no one locally, there's till the potential for knowing them in quanit little village way.

Fete was fun. Two glasses of Pimms (exactly how strong is that stuff? I'm feeling alarminglydrowsiy, though that may be the result of three late nights in a row), a German sausage (we're twinned with Reinns, though I'm not sure of the spelling), a cactus, two books, a glass swan, a chinese perfume pot, a necklace and a present for Anria later, here I am. I'm particularly pleased with hte perfume pot, since it cost me 10p and is probably from HongKong or China, and actually contains this perfume waxy stuff (salve?) which smells gorgeous.

Babysitting was great last night (saw the kids at the fete again today) and Gigi and Janek, the kids i babysit for, are absolutely gorgeous. Watched the Eurovision songcontest. The woman singing for greece was very sexy, in lots of lace up leather corsetty stuff. Belgium, despite having four languages of their own, decided to sing in a made up one, accompanied by both an accoridan and bagpipes, and came second. It was an amazing song, actually. Turkey's bellydancing troop won. Us, the British, got 'nil points'. Terry Wogan tried to blame this on politics (the voting is incredibly political. Everyone votes for their next door neighbours, except, apparantly, France and Ireland) due to Iraq, which might have contributed, but, to be quite frank, the British entrey was shite. Neither could sing. Absolutely terrible. Most of the other entries were either ballads or realy cheesy, but that's sort of the whole point of Eurvision. The English think too much like the Americans to get into . In Europe, apparntly cheesy, gimmiky novelty pop rules. Well, they did produce the cheeky girls and the Ketchup song.

My sister met them the other day. They were shopping where one of her friends works. Apparantly they're really nice, but frighteningly thin. Really not the sort of music my sister's into, but it's cool all the same.

Going to see Matrix tonight! yay! Still very sleeping due to Pimms on anempty stomach, so i hope I don't doze off before then ^_^ Serisously, what percentage is Pimms? It's made of Gin, Whisky or Brandy depneding on the type (we probably had gin). Pretty strong, really. Huh.

Oh, come on. Winning the Eurovision song contest is a bloody embarrassment for any country! The fact that we got 0 points is probably a good indication of the musical talent currently available from us. ::snicker:: Besides ABBA (who I don't much like) I know of no band who's won the contest and has any form of talent whatsoever.

TaTu came pretty damn close. Everytime they got more than6 points the audience booed though. The lativan really don't like the Russians, it would appear. Actually, they were all drunk, so they booed pretty much anything.
