This looks very exciting, but bearing in mind that the last Dr Who spin off was something like K-9 and company I'm doing my best to reserve judgement. And not just go 'squeeeeee!!!'. And I doubt it's a coincidence the K9 will appear in the Christmas special, where Torchwood will be mentioned for the first time.

I think I'm feeling better today, but that might just be the lemsip and the hot bath. Seems I used up all the hot water. Oops! Sorry ^_^ If it wasn't for hte fact that it's the first week, I'd be very tempted to stay home today. I don't want to sit and sniff my way through a lecture, a language class and a seminar, but I've not really got much choice. I'm sort of planning my day around lemsip doses. I'm going to go and get the max stuff in a second, even if it will probably send me to sleep. It's weird that term's finally begun. Admittedly, as an English student, it really doesn't make a huge difference! My sister's jealous because she's got halfterm next week, and we're only just starting.

Hehe - I texted [livejournal.com profile] steamnuts about the spinoff last night, and he didn't believe me...

I hadn't heard about that, but I share your tredipidation.

It sounds good. And it's got RTDavies at the helm, which is a great start. And John Barrowman. I figure even if it's underfunded, poorly plotted, and even poorly acted (by everyone who isn't Captain Jack, obviously), it'll still be both pretty and funny.

Actually, it makes me think about the mooted UNIT spinoffs of the Seventies, the ones that never actually happened, which would too be for an older audience and focus around the unexplained...

I know too much.

I didn't know about the proposed spin-off in the 70's but it is so patenly just a programme about UNIT that they should stop buggering about and call it as such :-)

The lecture looks SO DULL. I will be sleeping through it.

You know, I really ought to start reading the lecture lists. It would make my life far easier. Though it won't change the fact I plan to hide at the back so my constant sneezing (usually accompanied by a self-pitying 'ow') doesn't make too many people stare, since they'll all feel rude if they have to turn around in their seats.

Heh, it's my tutor giving the lecture and all. At least I'll get to observe her for a bit, though it means I really will have to try and stay with it.

It wouldn't really make your life easier, you'd just think 'God, that looks boring' and then not go! Or at least, that's how it tends to work for me.

K9 always irritated me, so I have many reservations, but I'm generally in Dr Who squee mode anyway.
