I made PDF! I made PDF!

So, yes, magazine can be turned into PDF, for all sorts of purposes. Perhaps we could offer 'email subscription' for reduced price?

When I've actually finished editting and updating, I'll upload a PDF version for people to pick at.

I was also pleased withmyself for finding several DVDs with Greek subtitles. In particular, really good DVDs: Dangerous Liaisons, Some Like it Hot and Interview with a Vampire (which pales a lot in comparison to the other too, but has enough pretty men to forgive it). DL is one of those films I'd advise everyone to watch twice: once for the plot, and again for the art. The soundtrack is especially good, matching the picture perfectly and occasionall having a little fun on its own.

Right now I Like Me ^_^

You rock! *does a little dance* I really like the idea of offering cut price memebership for PDF subscribers, it gives people a non-paper green option. But, um, how do we make it less than £3 if we get ratified and the SU set £3 as the minimum joining rate? Do the email subscribers not get full memebership to the society?

Dangerous Liaisons is one of my favourite films, it's just so twisted and beautiful.

It might end up being something we can't offer as part of the membership deal, but is only availible in addition. Maybe we could sell it to non-members at reduced price, but give it to members for free if they ask for it?

What about the covers? can they be put into PDF from jpg?

If you're using photoshop, probably. Though if we want them in the pdf magazine, they need to be in the same indesign file. It would definitely be nice to have a cover in there.

There's a thought though: in pdf, we can do the magazine in colour. We can also use it to offer new members back issues, should they so desire.

Well, you can definately use a jpg file in photoshop if that's what you mean. There wouldn't really be much point in doing that if we couldn't incorporate it with the same file, though, and that's just impossible for the front cover (inside and out) at least. I'm not really sure we should do it if we can't do the whole mag. Why is it that Indesign only likes images if they're HUGE? Is there no way to alter the pixel settings? I mean, I guess you've already looked at all that, but it's irritating.

I don't really know, it's something we'll have to jiggle about. Perhaps we could do an extra magazine, or some kind of free gift, for pdf subscribers, to balance it out? Maybe offer the anthology we talked about to pdf subscribers for free, while paper subscribers have to pay for it?

Don't worry, I found it! It was tucked among the large image thumbnails, so i didn't notice it at first. It's now all incorporated.
