23/5/03 06:29 pmOnce upon a time thre was a site called 'winter' filled with some of the best buffy fanfiction ever written, and it could be found at www.scary-septic-cat.com/winter. But Weiss Kreuz stole me from the Buffy fandom, and alas, tis site has buggered off somewhere. If anyone has a link to it, I'd be very gateful. It was one of the most beautiful sites I've seen, and I seem to be making quite a colleciton of those at the mo! I have several sites in my favourites for which I don't have the faintest idea what's on them, I just keep them to look at. Shallow, but fun.
It's odd, but there's far more brilliant buffy fanfiction out there than there is Weiss Kreuz, or any other fandom I've been into. Of coure, it's been around longer and reaches a much wider audience, but almost any site which is dedicated to Buffy fanfiction is full of good stuff, as opposed to general sites like ff.n which is where all hte dire stuff goes. I guess if you can be bothered to put the effort into building a site then you've got to be confident that you've got something worth putting on it. Actually, the mount of effort put into building a site seems directly proportional to hte content, i.e. the 'prettier' the site the better the fics. at least, in my experience.
[interlude] *wry grin* Dancing lessons has put up a eulogy to Spike. If the cast lists are true, hes not dead, and going to appear on the next season of Angel, and James masters has dropped several hints to that effect. Of course, that could be one of the false spoiler games JW likes to play... [/interlude]
Some of the most beautiful sites I've seen are buffy sites, I guess because there's so much that can lend itself to really dark fiction, which makes for dramatic visuals on a site. ZeroImpact was another amazing site, but Zero's withdrawn all of her non-professional sites now. There was one fanfiction on it which was bloody amazing.
[second interlude]Zero, if you weren't aware, is the person responsible for creating Jamesmasters.com and getting permission to make it the official site. I think he/she also did GlennQuinn.com, but the poor actor's dead now. Zero also did 'Buffy the vampire shagger' parody site, but it was the main one I liked. Great fiction, great html, great site. All black and white, which worked amazingly.[/2nd interlude]
Still looking for winter, but consideirng the last link I found to it was from 2001 I have little hope that it's still around. It was such a beautiful site! I ned to find one of the Buffy sarch engines, see if I can locate a more recent version.
