27/6/05 11:03 amWoodstock was brilliant. I wish I'd been there for more. Absoluetly shattered afterwards, and didn't sleep well, but c'est la vie. Got up early, and commenced moving into house!
It is a brilliant house. Gorgeous. My room smells funny, though. Parents decided not to stay overnight, even though that meant they'd be getting home at about 2AM (and Harry barely slept at all for all of the reasons I usually complain about). Our landlord is really helpful, and is happy to let us put up shelves, paint rooms, whatever. We're customising to our hearts' content. It all seems much bigger now, which is good, though the kitchen required several hours worth of rearranging last night. We'd been left with a full set of cutlery, crockery and pots and pans! Most of which weren't worth using, but oh well. We're getting the phone hooked up today, but we can't get internet (well, broadband, which is what we want) until the previous contact runs out, which will be 13th July, I think. I don't know how long the uni computer rooms stay open over the summer, so I may disappear on the 2nd. Uh, don't post anything brillaintly amazing, or urgent, til then, 'kay? ^_^
Despite the gorgeous day and the new house (which smells like my grandmother's, and when combined with the weather makes me think I'm on holiday in Cornwall and I want to wander down to the beach) my mood is somewhat dampened by the discovery that yes, those boxes did belong to someone. I feel all guilty. I'll have to try and return whatever I've got (I hope mum and Harry didn't go home with any) tomorrow before my seminar.
Ugh, seminar. I'm so ready for term to be over now. But maybe it'll help me get my head around the fact that this isn't just a holiday house. I'm still a bit stressed from the move (didn't sleep great last night either) and all hormonal to boot. Still, it's beautiful weather, and once I've got the TV license sorted out I can wander into town and ignore the rest of teh world to my heart's content.
