I found a very good place today, after realising that there was no point my being irritated that I hadn't found time for a walk when I could go right then. Actually, I found two very good places, but the second one has more of my love. I thought I couldn't adore the allotments any more...

Anyway, it inspired poetry. And, for the first time, poetry that I didn't just sit down and write all at once. Poetry that requires work. And is very Romantic poetry inspired, since that is what I was doing almost immediately prior to going for a walk. I started dissecting it as I made my way back, which shows I'm still in poetry inspection mode. I currently have stanzas 1, 2, 4, and what's probably going to be 6. For once I don't want to force myself to make up the rest immediately, because that's usually a sure sign I'll make a mess of it.

Anyway, yay walk. And tomorrow I shall actually have to start working on this essay, since it's due in next Tuesday, and I have an hour's tutorial, a high probability of a full working day and the need to go shopping before then.

I tend to rush poems when I write them and the inspiration always seems to run out before the last stanza; still haven't mastered the patience to do them properly.

Where did you go for a walk?

Just round the Stray, up past the Retreat and then through the allotments. I really do like those allotments, probably partially due to Toast's tendency to start singing Blues when we walk through them (it's easy to incline me towards a place like that).

I know what you mean baout poetry. Usuaully I end up with one stanza I'm really proud of, a few passable ones and then some tailing off blah at the end because it was never really destined to be more than the first two lines anyway.

I can put words in order, occasionally make them rhyme and, if I'm lucky, keep a consistant rhythm, so yes, I'm technically capable of writing poetry, but damned if any of it is ever any good.

Doing so much better than me, Min.

I went through a depressing poetry phase aged 13, it lasted ten minutes.

I never really managed depressing poetry, and I certainly never got a handle on writing poetry based on my life. I have one personal poem, the rest are things I thought sounded nice at the time.

It wasn't depressing about me. Though I do depressed (without poetry) exceedingly well at times. It was about one of those idiots who tries to sell flowers on the roads in the dark to people in cars. He/she got runover flat.

I started off thinking 'aww' and ended up giggling. It sounds great, either way.

It was diabolical, and instantly got dumped, as it taught me one important thing, I can't write poetry.

I was on the way home from a school theatre trip at the time and those idiots where all over the A-whatever.
