Bloody hell.

The sound's working again. A few experimental pokes at the keyboard suggest that is too.

Now I've just got to figure out how to put the keys back on...

Is not broken! Woooooooooooooo00000000000t!!!!!!!!!

Woots you back.
Thank you ^_^

I hadn't expected it all to just turn out fine though, not considering it had been several hours since the spill when we were still having trouble. I assumed it had already dried.

Yay that it hadn't, and it has now, basically!

cudos, do you think this would work for a key that doesn't seem to work, on my laptop one of the keys seems to be stuck, even though I took it off have no idea what to do, so stuck it back on, and it still don't work.

I guess it depends on why it isn't working. If there's something wrong with the wire thingy underneath, you'd really need to take all hte keys of, removed the plasticy bit with the wire patterns on and clean it inside and out. However, as I discvered, this isn't really possible with a laptop, since the plasticy bit is firmly attached to the inside of the laptop. Also, the way the keys were attached on my laptop means now I've taken them all off and the bits that held them to the keyboard, I'm going to have a very hard time getting them all back on again.

Really, best bet is to find a hardware engineer or something, rather than someone like me how only know how keyboards work from repeated acts of clmsiness! You could try wandering around your university looking for computing students ^_^
