The Hitch Hikers Guide to the Galaxy site is brilliant. The trailer is amazing, with Stephen Fry's voice over, cute ickle Marvin and a very brief glimpse of Zaphod's second head. There's the new villain, who apparently was designed by Dougls Adams to go in the film. There's also a little Marvin to accompany you round the site, and a bunch of games.

Finished Pompeii. Ending irritated me, because it's that authorial smugness of 'my characters survived in an apocryphal way'. Still, good book. I've read better Pompeii novels (and enough to consider it a mini-genre), but most of those are out of print, as far as I can tell. Steven Saylor is still the man I consider master of Roman novels. Looking about for something to read next, and after dismissing paradise Lost, Euclid's Window and Rebecca, I'm about to embark on the Chronicles of Narnia. Probability I finish all of them before we go home?

Had breakfast adn lunch simultaneously today. Cereal, then pasta. Definitely the best way of doing it.
