I'm trying to learn css and change Femmedelalune, so here's the proto main page. For some reason FrontPage keeps crashing when I try and save the style sheet so I had to do it all in notepad.

Edit: nope, it doesn't do what I wanted it to do. Is there perhaps some line I have to put in the top of the style sheet or something? I've got the link thing in the head of the page, I think. I've been using the css cookbook

Erm, you haven't uploaded the stylesheet. That's why it's not working. And as a hint for css and frontpage - use notepad instead. Frontpage is shite. Another hint for css in general - if you want to apply something, DO NOT format over it by specifying what colour text etc. you want to use within the page. (Argh, you know what I mean - don't go to the background section and format it. Leave it on the automatic selection.) Otherwise the formatting you add in there will override the extraneous css.

http://www.w3schools.com/css/css_intro.asp is a bloody good site for CSS, if you wanted an alternative to compare with. Ask me if you have any questions! ^_^

I have uplodaed the stylesheet. I was very careful about remembering to do that. it's here (http://femmedelalune.fateback.com/core_style), so perhaps you could tell me what's wrong with it? I'm oging over all of the stuff you sent me later today, so I may have figured it out before you reply anyway ^_^
And I will go and unformat text. Probably should have thought of that before I started

Ah, there's your problem - the file name is core_style.css (which you didn't actually link to, BTW - the link just goes to core_style) whereas in the page you have linked to it as core-style.css.

Please check for stupid mistakes, Nat! You could have figured that out on your own.

PS: Get rid of the email address in the css sheet. It shouldn't be there and I don't know how it will affect things, but it won't be good. DO NOT use normal html in css - at best the browser will ignore it. At worst it'll fuck with your settings baaaaaaadly.

PPS: There was no "red" in the monkey thing. It was "look at the monkey, monkey, monkey, look at the monkey, cute as can be".

but the page is called 'little red monkey' and it points out at teh end that they are aware that the moneky in question is not actually red.

And I probably wold have spotted that but i haven't looked it over again. Been out all day and still trying to swallow Frankenstein before Fri whilst working out when i'm going to have time to get a bday present for Gene, who I'm going to have lunch with immediately after Eng.
