11/1/05 05:12 pmThe problem with going shopping this morning is I've been completely unmotivated to do anything else today. Three hours hiking around town will sap the energy from you like that. Did, however, come back with pretty much everything I need. Turns out I have to phone people to sort out bank issues (wonder what that's going to do to my credit...), which is irritating, but I'm sorted with everything else. Decided on modules, except now I have to decide on second choice modules, and since the one I want is only 30 places and my supervisor meeting's not til Thursday, I'm kinda worried that if they assign places on a first come first served basis I won't get it. And it's 'imagined worlds', AKA everything a Fantasy and SciFi (and Utopia and Dystopia) geek could want from a module.
I did manage to get two out of the three remaining books I need for my course (I'm beginning to think I'll have better luck finding an uncut version of Tennyson's In Memoriam online, and save myself the money), along with socks, many file-type-things from Smiths, a laundry basket/bag and some cute trainers. And good news is the loan has gone through, so I actually have money. Now I just need to make sure I don't spend it all before Uni takes chunks of it away again. Almost got injured taking laundry bag out of box. It's one of those ones that springs open. Cool, but I'm quite attached to my eyes.
I seem to be getting a little addicted to drawing this comic thing. It would probably help if I actually came up with a plot, maybe even a script, before I started drawing, but it's going okay so far. Five pages in, anyway. And now I've thought of an ending and a sort-of cliff hanger for a possible next issue (or few issues). Still no name for the main character though. Anyway, at this rate I'll be done with the first issue soon. It's not exactly going to be long, anyway, and I'm keeping to mostly just outlines. Shadows and shading are a bit advanced for me :( I'm just getting far too attached to this character, and it's be kinda cool to get something out of it. I've even got some subsidiary characters half-formed in my head, though if I stiick to the half-formed plot, they won't be appearing for a while.
Nikki said she might come round later nad help me attack this Wrod thing. We suspect that rather install the new word, it's just reactivated the old one that wants activating. So much much uninstalling, hopefully, and then reinstalling of nice non-demanding versions.
