26/12/04 11:31 am60 posts on my FList over Christmas eve and Christmas day. I'm impressed. But then, I always make a point of avoiding all computers on Christmas day. I've had accusations of being unsociable in teh past.
Spoke to my cousin in Australia yesterday, while we were at my aunt's house. Kinda surreal, actually. I'm fine with the idea of chatting to people in real time online, but hand me a phone and I just can't quite believe it.
Got a bag from my gran that looks like it might not fall apart immediately upon coming into contact with uni books, like most other bags I own. My sister gave me book token (how well she knows me!) and martian volcano mud, whichis basically pretty putty. Mum gave me the same Queen CD that I gave Chloe, which amused me muchly. Harry did actually make it downstairs for dinner and presents, though he didn't come to Aunty Jan's or stay out of bed for much else. We're going to Jan's again today (randomly). Finished Going Postal this morning, having started it at about 6PM yesterday.
It's Boxing Day, so one more day of reprieve from real world before I go back to worrying about bank cards and mag work and getting hold of books for uni. Should anyone want to come on big book buying binge, apparently there's a shop in London called Foils where you can get almost any book straight off hte shelf. Could make a bit of a day of it, hitting the sales. Not that there's anything I need at the moment, and having cash is quite nice since I can't get to money in banks.
A random thought: I am currently the highest earning member of this household. 0.o And the second highest earner is my sister, with a shopping £5-£10 a week (depending whether she walks our friends' dog).

Date: 26/12/04 09:10 pm (UTC)Foyles is a great bookshop, but it has had a bit of a soulless corporate makeover lately so the escalators are gone. It's also sometimes very very disorientating. Don't expect the shelving to be even halfway logical. I suggest tying yourself to a big rope A-M post office style.
But still there's no other bookshop in London which keeps piranah's in it's childrens dept. Yup, piranahs, that well know sweet and cuddly fish that likes children.
Let me know if you're going to appear in London. If you want to that is. I live there in term time. What are you studying, anyway?
