12/12/04 10:50 amSunday's are so much my empty-head day. I have a very strong urge to just curl up on the bed and watch videos. Possibly because I had to do that for the last two weeks because of the essay.
Burnt my thumb badly last night cooking, and ended up sitting with it in a cup of water for several hours. Went to bed and had to keep getting up to dunk it in the water because ow. Though it stopped hurting at some point, since it's okay now. Large blister, but that's what you get for touching the oven shelf when it's at 220 degrees.
So many kids at work yesterday. There was the most stoic baby, who sat in his pram for about half an hour absolutely quiet and calm, and his two evil older brother who kept bashing in windows and doors. Then the most gorgeous toddler girl, all wooly hat and rainbow coloured wooly coat and wellies, who was fascinated with opening and closing doors very gently. I enjoyed playing with her (and ignoring the other evil children). We also had a lot of foreign people, as evidenced by the fact they all spoke foreign. You can tell you've been reading too much Terry Pratchett when every language you don't recognise is 'foreign'. Anyway, the first few were Belgian, and since I don't speak Belgian but it's written so it looks a bit like German and some people sounded like they were speaking German, which I don't speak, I hence conclude there may have been a Belgian coach trip to York. Clearly.
Things I ought to do on monday: Anime soc social, writing soc social, langwith xmas dinner, cinematography. Guess which I'll be doing? Langwith food! But it's good it's all on monday, since it means I haven't double booked myself for wednesday, which will be Monty Python and Chocolate Fondue day. I need to start writing lists of commitments, really. I have a bunch of stuff to do, which I'm avoiding thinking about right now. Not the best coping strategy. I need to write lsits of other stuff, too. Like Christmas presents. And I'm still very tempted to buy the miniature Xmas cards from the shop to give to people this year, but it all really depends on how small I can write. And what people will think of half-stamp sized cards ^_^

Date: 12/12/04 05:14 am (UTC)Seriously though, hope the burn heals soon, that's nasty. I did a similar thing this morning on an insence holder (dumb, I know), but thankfully there was no blister.
