For once, new haircut does not make me think "50s housewife". No, today it's "60s teen". I want to bop! ^_^ For next time I'm thinking about colours, since they're cheap and they have a student discount. Shampoo and cut is between £6 and £16 depending on the stylist, which considering it was £25 minimum back home is not half bad. Plus, there's a 20% discount on top, so today only cost me £15 (shampoo, cut and style). For the same stylist, inc discount, hig/low lights woven would be £32. Not bad at all! Espceially considering I'm earning £35 a day at the doll house shop. I'm actually putting money into the bank rather than taking it out right now.

Ooh, eyebrow shape £5, plus a 10% discount with the card provided by the hairdresser. Cheapest I've seen previously was £30. What is with York being so cheap??

I'm half thinking about going to writers instead of cinematography tonight. Not much happens at cine anyway, and since the guy who was going to teach us to edit can't do it for the rest of the term now and I've skipped the socials so I don't know anyone... It's cool, I'm interested in it, but just turning up to meetings isn't a productive use of my time really. Most of the time it takes me longer to get to and from than the meeting takes. And I do want to take new hair to writers. I could even dig out something to read.

I really need to get around to emailing the sns people back about ftp issues. I've now got almost every site ready to update, and most of them ought to be transferred over to solelyfictional asap. They don't like holding pages up for more than 30 days. I have art pages for sigkinks (which is staying at Snoo for now) and a whole new website, and updates for Femmedelalune and... Let's face it, by the time I'm done I'll have something for everything, which is kinda cool, actually. But still, I'd like to be able to before Christmas!

Today is going so slow. Of course, any day would, compared to yesterday. I got up at one, had breakfast (which went on for the rest of the day), watched Ocean's Eleven, a bit of Smallville (so cheesy!!) and then went to anime and watched that for six hours. I just felt so accomplished for getting more than seven hours sleep. I'm a ten hours girl, and less than that for more than one night leads to ZombieNat. I spent most of the day in bed eating mincepies (it was two boxes for £12, and already I'm one mince pie away from finishing teh first box) and debating whether it was worth opening a bottle of Exmoor Punch that will probably end up being a present for someone (I bought two bottles, so I can get away with opening one) and moving all the way to the kitchen to microwave a glass full. Haven't made the effort yet. Tis very good punch though.

I'm going to keep doing that thing where I scratch my back with the hairbrush because I forgte my hair's small again, aren't I?

Where did you go for all this wondrous cheapness? I usually go to Evolve for hair which is £20 and upwards before student discount, but they are really good.

Forget cinesoc and come to writing ;) And read!

Um, is that really two boxes of mince pies for £12?

Oops! £2. After all that squeeing over cheap haircuts, even I wouldn't feel free to send £12 on mince pies ^_^ And hairdressing place is Lawton Henry, on Walmgate. They've got two places - one for hair, one for nails et al.

Ooo, nails! I had mine done at Nail Bar One once and really thought I could do a better job myself, but there's a woman in the corn exchange in Leeds who's really good. She did purple with black tips for me. also something I could ahve done myself, but she did it well. I'll have to check out the nail-doing wondrousness. We should have a girly Yorkwriters outing there towards the end of term *shufts over to the forum*

Ah, £2 mince pies sounds better :D

a bit of Smallville (so cheesy!!)

It really is. I keep watching various episodes, and thinking, 'Wait a minute, I've seen this episode of Buffy!' And the effects really need some work.

It's my latest obsession, however. :) Some of the fic is fantastic.

It's definitely addictive. Brilliant way to spend a Sunday afternoon, and I've bene reading reviews of it so long that despite coming in at a completely random point, I actually have some idea of what's going on!

Though, as someone pointed out, if you found Smallville fics with hte same plots as the comics they'd be laughed out of the fandom for their sheer OOC crackheadedness.
