Guess what I'm wearing?

Size 8 jeans!

w00t!!11!!!1! (and other such L33t expressions of joy)

Last time I wore size 8 jeans I was about 12, and then only because really I was just a tall kid, not a slim adult. All my other jeans are size 12 or, in a few cases, 10 and stretched.

Okay, so they're tight and a bit unflattering and take ages to do up, but they're relatively comfortable and since I plan to lose weight it works out rather well. And hey, single digit size. For those in America - the English sizing system is smaller than yours, though I don't know what the comparison it. I ought to know what 8 is in European sizes... if 12 is 40, 8 is 36. Woo!

Size 8 jeans are not the only thing I've done today. Tuesday is Cleaners day, and also test the fire bell at 9:30 day, so I was out of the apartment by 10, understandably. Wandered around campus for about an hour, bought some chocolate, and decided to go into town. Decided to take a slightly different route, following someone. Got lost. Didn't care. My sense of direction is usually pretty reliable, but my perception of distance isn't. Thus "town must be in that direction" tended to get stuck at "town is actually back there because I've walked too far". Spent over an hour wandering around residential walk, and stopped to read Mrs Dalloway by a river. Gorgeous river. As all roads lead to Rome, so all river lead to the town centre, by my estimation, and eventually I found town over an hour later. And, unlike last time, managed to buy everything I actually needed. baking tray, mini bin, aerial... Okay, so the aerial doesn't work and I have to take it back (it's going to be interesting finding out if I can find the shop again), but still, very accomplished. Also picked up perscriptions and parcels and everything. And got back to find a man doing something to my door, so I hid in the kitchen and had lunch. Apparantly my door was broken. Wasn't when i left, so I figure the cleaners did something, but mostly I was just glad I'd tidied my room thoroughly before I left.

Love new jeans. Shouldn't have spent money on clothes, not really, but it was buy on get one free and I got a new top as well, and they are size 8 jeans for £20 and did I mention size 8?

What's weird is while I'm all keen to lose weight and stuff, I never really wanted to go below a size 10. Never thought I'd be able to, since even at my fittest (which was only two yars ago) I was a size 10/12. Heh.
