minervasoloI made myself a bacon sandwich and apparantly the whole block now smells of bacon. Ooops. I decided to make it, then had to trek to the shops to buy bread and ketchup, so it was a well earned bacon sandwich. I have also bought yet more apples. I think I've gone through at least twelve since Sunday now.
I may have gone a little mad signing up for things at Freshers Fair. To the extent that I can no longer remember what I signed up for and what I put down for emails for. Rough estimates:
Joined:
Anime club
Sci Fi club
YorMag (student magazine)
Writing club
Volunteering at radio station (either as going round old people's homes and helping with IT or being on an IT helpdesk call in thing)
Possibly the Cinema club - I don't remember handing over any money, but they might not have been asking for any
A job (more on that later)
Signed up for emails for:
Various cinemas
Medieval Soc (or did I join that one?)
History Soc
Cock Soc (that's cocktails, you pervs ^_^ )
Outdoor club (it was £7 to join and £4 for every walk, so no way was I actually joining that one)
Young Green Soc
Book club
A whole bunch more I've already forgotten
The job thing consisted of a lady appearing suddenly and saying "are you looking for part time work?" to which I automatically replied yes. I'm either going to end up in telemarketting or customer services, and they're ringing on Wednesday to arrange an interview. They could pay me a billion dollar salary (sdound bettwe than billion pounds) and I'd still refuse telemartketing. It's my nightmare job. Customer Services, though, I think I could handle. Plus, it's different from shop work, so I'll end up with a range of experience for my CV, it's flexible hours and it means I don't have to put any effort into finding a job.
And they gave me a free alarm clock. Turns out I'm such a sucker for free stuff. I have so many sweets now. And yet more condoms. They really love their condoms here. The SU speach included a whole section on condoms. They're very proud that they can offer orange soda flavour, which tastes like fanta, and hot chocolate flavour, and many other flavours, and glow in the dark (which lead to Star Wars jokes). Oh, and they got bored of lube, so now they've ordered Juicy lube. I ended up with a mental picture of the SU Welfare guy sitting in his flat eating condoms all day.
I think i shall go shopping in town today. Finally get an aerial for my tv.
