2/10/04 12:55 pmLast night was pretty fun. Neither Jacqui (the manager) nor Kim (one of hte 16 year olds) came. Ended up at Pizza Expres, because you can't book for Zizzi's and it was an hour and a half wait. Food could have been a little better. Much teasing and joking all around.
Rachel, however, got drunk. Had three, maybe four glasses of wine before and while we were eating, and then down another two as soon as Sabrina (who she was sharing the wine with) went to talk to her boyfriend. She couldn't sit up. She couldn't walk. Of course, we all had buses and trains and lifts to catch, but none of us could leave until we sorted her out. A Pizza Express guy had to carry her out of the restaurant and sit her on a chair outside. Which she fell off, twice. Then threw up on her lap, and fell off again. By this point only Sabrina and I were left, because people did have to go, and we found out that the lift she was waiting for was a moped. She couldn't understand that if you can't stay on a fucking chair, there's no way you'll stay on a fucking motorbike. As I said with actually swearing, which shows I was getting just a tad irritated by this point. I had to run for the bus, elaving her with boyfriend who owned moped and Sabrina.
I just can't help but think it's really kinda inconsiderate to get that drunk. When you're so drunk you can't stand up, and other people have to call taxis and parents and even ambulances for you, why did you do it? I've never been so drunk I couldn't walk. And can understand being drunk enough for getting more drunk to seem a perfectly reasonable idea, but agian, I've been that drunk and I've still known in what situations being more drunk is appropriate. A restaurant isn't one of them. Hell, I probably wouldn't do it anywhere in public. She knows she's working today, from 9. She knows she's underaged, and I also think if you're drinking underaged you don't get so drunk you hit your head three times and may end up in hospital, because the rest of us get in a lot of trouble. When I left she wouldn't even let Sabrina call her a taxi.
I know I sound all up on my high horse, and a bit of a hypocrit considering the alcohol poisoning I gave myself not so very long ago, but Rachel's never made a particularly good impression on me. She's lazy, she tries to avoid work she doesn't have to do, she completely fails to understand when someone has a real reason for not doing something (such as Jacqui not coming because she almost fainted earlier. For Jacqui, that is pretty serious, but Rachel didn't think so) and I think she assumes everyone is like herself. Sabrina got tipsy, but she wasn't drunk and she obviously had no intention of getting drunk in a nice restaurant. It's obvious Rachel's been this drunk before, so she's got to know what she's like.
It was a good night until that point. I did rather feel like leaving her lying on the steps, but I wasn't just going to abandon Sabrina like that. I had to leg it down the hill for my bus as it was. I guess I just don't like feelings of obligation, especially not in situations like that.
But I'll never see her again, so heh.
They've changed the layout of the update page agian, haven't they?
