html type people? Any idea why I can't stop hte bloody scroll bar in the left frame here? There are actually several layers to these frames (i.e. iframes, then normal frames inside) so the problem is actually occuring someone on here. Or in here (that last one being the relevant stylesheet).

it's driving me slowly insane. Especially since I'm not meant to be doing it at all, yet have spent a good hour not messing about with css in an attempt to hide at least some of those dreadful text banners. Make the nasty scrollbars go away! ::pouts::

(oh, otherwise all updated, and hey, pimping out the original fiction site any chance I get)

On the first iframe in the main page code, just insert scrolling="no". That should get rid of it. It's the iframe that's scrolling, not anything else.

nope, didn't seem to work. ctrl+refreshed and all. I think it's that specific frame (the contents.htm page) which has the problem. I don't mind it scrolling on hte other ones, but it looks neater is the menu hasn't got magically appearing and disappearing vertical scrollbars, and a deeply irritating horizontal one. I figured scrolling="no" in hte appropriate frame would stop it, otherwise I'd have attacked this at a different time, but no such luck.

Whoops, sorry, I thought you had two iframes there. ^_^ Yup, the correct place for the scrolling="no" is in the contents.htm frame. You know, you could get this layout much easier with just frames. . . .

I used to have it with just frames. There were at least 10 of them, as I recall. Many existed just to get borders in the right places. It's an asthetic thing. I figure this will be the one website that will never undergo any majoy design changes, just tweaks to stop things like this.
