9/4/04 11:24 amAll of these ought to be ad-free and, well, free. Better explore thoroughly before signing up though. Those that I know aren't ad free I've mentioned. I've stuck to listing webspace and bandwidth, unless anything else grabs my attention.
free-webspace.biz
We are proud to offer you here 255 MB of free Webspace without Bandwith-Limit!
German site, I think. No reference to presence of ads, but a user mentioned there weren't any. According to other sources there are. Maybe the user has paid?
Fateback
60 MB Free Hosting
No Banners or Pop-up Ads
Unlimited Bandwidth
Unlimited Sites
Still seems, worryingly, to be a damn good deal, despite really irritating text ads.
united net
Sign up now and get 15MB of free web space with 24/7 FTP access, SSI (Server Side Includes), Unlimited e-mail forwarding, colour statistic, Catch-all email address, complete .htaccess support, error 404 pages, 100MB of data transfers per month and more
Are 'data transers per month' the same as bandwidth? Also, 15MB seems pretty small, but I haven't checked if you can sign up for multiple accounts.

Bordering on very basic. that's all you get, really. For almost everything else here I've only listed space and bandwidth, unless it's something unusual they're offering, but no, this is all you get with brinkster.

Have your own ADS FREE web site accessories!
does bannerless imply popups? Still, one of the best so far. OKay, note: when they say bannerfree, and adfree, they mean it in the same way fateback does. There's this textbanner, but it's a nice text banner in that it hides at the bottom of the page, matches any css coding and it's really very small.
host ultra

This has multiple popups, but unlimited space. Unlimited!
prohosting

50+ megs of disk space
Fast Dual Servers, Fast T3 Line, Reliable hosting! (more so then most PAY hosting companies; we know that from experience)
Unlimited Bandwidth, WE pay for it!
the catch here is they do have a popup, but it hides behind al the other open windows so a user won't notice it. Personally, i'd find that twice as irritating, but as deals go it's pretty good, and most people can stomach a single ad. Oh, and according the TOS they reserve hte right to change their mind about the advert policy at any time.
Eccentrix
50 MB Web Space
900 MB Bandwidth/Month*
900 KB File Size Limit
probably suffers from banners, but not a bad deal
hosted for free
20 megabytes of free web space!
WWW board, guest book and form mail with all accounts!
Easy to use file manager!
Fast and reliable dedicated server!
Free web site resources!
No popup ads!
Hopefully I haven't just done this for my own benefit. Taken over an hour. so far coolfreepages, bannerlessfreehosting (or whatever that damn one was called), brinkster and fateback look best.
This is a really old update that wouldn't work. So hopefully now it will. Just putting it up just because, basically.
Hope everyone has fun in gford, though remembering it is Good Friday so buses and trains will be rare, and there's no counting on all of the shops being open... Ech, you lot can entertain yourselves.
Watched a bit of an animated version of 'The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe'. I now really really want to read those books again, and stay a very very long way from that animation. Terrible animation, and the accents of the characters were all over the place (England, America, Australia...). And thinking of accents, the dubbed version of Fruits Basket. Tohru's voice. Ah! Normally I don't notice american accents. Sometimes, especially one tv series, I can't tell whether the accents are american or english, as long as everyone's got the same one. But oh dear god would that voice get annoying. Is it Valley Girl, or something? And episode 25 is still failing to donload for me. 26 was on the of the first ones got, but 25... grah.
Anyway, revision. That was the plan for today. Finish physics. Yes.
