I'm logged into the computer in my sister's user area, because she's doing maths coursework. Relucatntly. And for some unknown reason, she doesn't have Internet Explorer. How bizarre. So I'm stuck with AOL and the reminders of why I avoid it.

I've had very little email in the past few days :( It's unusual for me to get nothing. Comes of being on Misura' author alert - that girl posts at least a fic a day normally. It's really quite scary. And speaking of which, I've really got to startposting 'Bulb' somewhere, because [livejournal.com profile] almighty_frog mentioned she wanted to read it, and as I'm on the fifth chapter I might as well get some on the web. AU Crawford/Yohji. Going to enter it in one of the many fanfic competitions around at the mo. The Yohji one, in fact ^^

I can hear 'mad world' playing downstairs. Huh. We don't have that CD. I thought.

Did the shopping thang with [livejournal.com profile] almighty_frog and [livejournal.com profile] da_roz. now have [livejournal.com profile] mcbunnykiller's present. It was fun, but I was absolutely skint, bit of a detractor, and I have to remember to pay Anria back for lunch. Going back probably Tuesday to get Anria's pres, because otherwise it will be gone. Normally I couldn't afford this present, though i know she'll love it, but luckily I've found it reduced to an affordable price somewhere. And no, still not going to say what it is ^_^ Only problem might be if her parents get it for her too. Or if it's gone when I get back, because there's only the one and it's so much cheaprer than it is anywhere else. So will be going in monday or tuesday, except I have hospita appointment on monday, so unless I convinc mum to let me skip all of psychology, drive me to gford to get the present, then drive me in exactly the opposite direction to the clinic, it'll have to be Tuesday. Can't see this complex plan working, somehow ^^

I get to babysit for The Most Adorable Kids Ever (TM) again! Gigi and Janek are so cute, and they adore me (yay!), and their mother ha started going to the gym again, so I sit on Mondays and Clo on Wednesdays, because she's just as skint as I am. And I'm babysitting tonight for the kids of person who had my English tutor when he was at college. Poor Mr Long. Sent his entire working career at our college. I swear, if he was younger I'd marry him soon as I was done with university! Can't imagine how he's single. He's adorable. Sings random italian opera at us while we discuss Phillip larkin, of all people.

Oh, and he's considerably more compentant than our other Eng teacher. I mean, the other guy's nice, but very very wet, and hte only person I've met who's actually got something wrong when analysing poetry. It's damn hard to do, but he managed it. And we're doing Blake, which, as [livejournal.com profile] mericangrl pointed out, "is like analysing nursery rhymes". The child in the poem talks for four lines. You can tell because of the "s. Our teacher things the kid is narrating almost hte entire poem. Thunk. ::headdesk::

And our maths teacher is explaning stuff we learnt in year seven as though it's new to us. Long division. I did long division for the first time in year five! Okay, algebraic long division a bit trickier, but really, not that complicated. We did it last year. In fact, everything we've done in maths since we tok P2 we've done already, some last year, some pre-GCSE.

So yes, college is irritating, but I'm taking all my work to do while babysitting. These people don't have interesting kiddy videos. With other people I end up entertaining myself with Stuart Little 2 and Bambi (Bambi!) and felt pens and kids yoghurt and... yes. I get on well with kids because I am one. And like my mother, I feel no compulsion to grow up. Hey, she still believes in fairies.Used to put food out for them ^_^ Darling woman.

I have been netdeprived by my sister recently, with her art and her maths and her everything, and Harry, with his tombraider, hence long rambling post. tata!

TELL ME!

You do this on purpose, I swear. You know how nosy I am, so you decide to torture me by not telling me what I want to know.

You're my friend, aren't you? ::bats eyes:: Tell me?

OKa,y i will hint, just to make certain your parents haven't got you the same thing, within your knowledge. Very large book. Not thick (though it is a bit) but tall and wide. And I might go get it today, because Harry wants to take me on a driving lesson, and it's a good excuse to get back into Gford.

. . . "Very large book"? ::is confused::

WAIT! Is it the new Terry Pratchett one? Is it is it is it? Or am I so far off the mark I haven't even hit the hay bales?

But to answer your question, to the best of my knowledge my parents have not got me that. They very get me books, and I've been told that I can't break their present. If it was a book, even a hardback one, I could break it. (Don't ask.) So you should be safe. ^_^

Speaking of presents, what do you want for your 18th? ::pokepoke::

"The Monstrous Regiment". It's the only one I haven't read yet. ::cackles::

You gave me a hint, so I'll quit nagging. And I still say you can borrow money off me for whatever purpose you need it for - as long as I actually have some, of course. O.o

well, if I can't get you the planned book, I'll get you Monstrous Regiment, okay? And I've got money now - combination of babysitting and allowance, but if I bought you this book at full price it means I will have spent more on your birthday than everyone else's put together.
