1.What did you do in 2003 that you'd never done before?
applied to Cambridge? Took driving lessons? Nothing that I could have done before but didn't, basically.

2. Did you keep your new year's resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
Not sure I made any, except, oh, be healthier. I've been keeping that more since about Septmeber, when my stomach was reintroduced to college food and hte novelty had worn off.

3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
Not that I can remember. Cousin was born last year, I think.

4. Did anyone close to you die?
people I know had people close to them die, but not me.

5. What countries did you visit?
None! Not even Wales or Scotland, let alone France.

6. What would you like to have in 2004 that you lacked in 2003?
Job. Acceptance to Cambridge. Driving license (so i can stop with the lessons)

7. What date from 2003 will remain etched upon your memory?
none. events, maybe, but they'll fade too.

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
none

9. What was your biggest failure?
none, really.

10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
Only the usual. Oh, and tonsilitus from Anria, that decided to make itself known in the middle of a camping trip.

11. What was the best thing you bought?
::shrugs:: books, notebooks, clothes... Nothing I haven't bought before, nothing exciting. Me, spend money? Pah!

12. Whose behaviour merited celebration?
Part of me has deicded to say Roz, nad the rest can't be bothered to pick a candidate. So, Roz. No one else would have slapped Sel.

13. Whose behaviour made you appalled and depressed?
Pretty much everyone I know IRL, and a few I don't. It's been the year of cynicism for me. Oh, wait, it says depressed. No one, then. Nor really appalled, for that matter.

14. Where did most of your money go?
Money, what money?

15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
Me, excited? pull the other one.

16. What song will always remind you of 2003?
There is nothing ahot 2003 to really be reminded of. And I haven't really heard any songs this year I hadn't heard before. Go figure.

17. Compared to this time last year, are you happier or sadder?
more cynical.

ii. thinner or fatter?
fatter, but thinning again. Actually, heavier rather than fatter, and lightening rather than thinning.

iii. richer or poorer?
poorer.

18. What do you wish you'd done more of?
putting effort into getting a job. writing.

19. What do you wish you'd done less of?
internal whining. And extrernal whining, i.e. ranting here.

20. How will you be spending Christmas?
with mother and sister and harry. As I have every year. Next year I'll have an excuse not to, but hte guilt will bring me home anyway.

22. Did you fall in love in 2003?

23. How many one night stands?
none. not in the sense meant, anyway. one night pulls - two.

24. What was your favourite TV programme?
Bing and Bong. It's for kids, it's weird, and I want Bong. Oh, and I'm not the only one obsessed with it! Neroli and Tor are too!

25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?
don't do hate. Meh, too much like emotion.

26. What was the best book you read?
Knowledge of Angels by Jill Paton Walsh, or whatever her name is. Oh, and the Dark is Rising Sequence by Susan Cooper. Both books I've read before, years ago, and both defninitely worth the reread.

27. What was your greatest musical discovery?
Britney? Meatloaf? My old mixed CDs, probably.

28. What did you want and get?
Didn't want, so that's that one sorted.

29. What did you want and not get?
book finished. not an unusual complaint.

30. What was your favourite film of this year?
PotC, possibly. most films really don't make an impact on me.

31. What did you do on your birthday?
My actual birthday, went to college. Learnt. Went out for dinner and ran into Kareena, who I completely meant to stay in touch with when i left GHS. What I did for my birthday: comforted Selena, watched some rather big fights between friends, drank Sangria and Pimms and ate barbeque food cooked on hte oven first.

32. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
getting a book published. Or finished, for that matter.

33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2003?
Conformist. Thank god most of my friends are rather non-conformist. Makes me look like less of a sheep. But I feel very self-concious when I'm not around them, like in Psychology. Everyone there tends towards hte Townie in clothes, so turning up for the first lesson in *pink* trousers, black studded top, dog collar and huge black boots had me going "eep! i stand out!"

34. What kept you sane?
common sense.

35. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
Britney Spears? To be honest, i don't fancy celebrities. Can't.

36. What political issue stirred you the most?
Iraq was interesting, and I'm slowly getting more pissed about top-up-fees (even though they won't affect me).

37. Who did you miss?
no one.

38. Who was the best new person you met?
Neroli.

39. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2003.
You can't like everything about everyone. Doesn't mean you shouldn't try, though.

40. Quote a song lyric that sums up your year.
One of the ones from my mixed 'Woman' CD, about being 17. Gah, I'll remember the chorus in a second. Right after I hit 'Update Journal'.

"I learned the truth when I was seventeen, that love was meant for beauty queens, and..." Damn, can't remember the rest of the line. it's either "and brown eyed girls with clear skin smiles" or "not ugly duckling girls like me"

Love that song. Melancholy, but very sweet. Well, bittersweet.

Now, must go and get ready for shopping or film watching or something with Sophie. Will need money )borrowed form mum), card (which I need to add bits too) and present (which I feel should be bigger, so i'm buying some chocolates to complement it). Oh, and clothes, because I'm istitng here in a towel. You really needed to know that, didn't you?

All i know is that I have it on a CD< which is full of a mix of very famous songs and completely unknown songs that you only ever see on mixed 'woman' theme CDs.
