8/11/03 03:17 pmIt's bonfire night, it's bonfire night hooray hoorah etc
Okay, it was Bonfire Night (AKA Guy FAWKE's Night) on wednesday, but tonight is the village Bonfire. We're having Muppet and Pooh adn their kids over, and Harry who-shoots-rabbits-and-leaves-them-on-our-doorstep-for-sunday-lunch, and some of mum old friends over. We'll probably run into at least two local families we know well, plus Roz's family and a local family they know well and, basically, hte point I'm making is because it's a local community thing I'm going to know about half the people on the wet and muddy (and smokey) field. Ad i love it. No matter how crap it is. Except this year they've got £5000 to spend on it from the builders because everyone got pissed at them for closing one of the main routes out of the village. Normlly all hte money is just left over from anything made the previous year, plus whatever those on the commity are willing to dig out of their own pockets.
I love the village bonfire. Been going since I was a year old. Will still be going when i no onger live in the village. And best yet, we're having roast potatoes and sausages, proper bonfire night food.
Oh, people are here. g2g!
