The Oxfam bookshop has been feeding my Wells addiction recently, with seven of his books purchased this week. I'm not sure when I'll get around the reading them, but I know I will. I exhausted most of his Sci Fi years ago, but I discovered his sociological novels recently, and though Edwardian society can make for slightly heavy reading his prose is crisp and fluid and deeply enjoyable.

One of the ones I picked up before was from 1933, which pleased me. I saw another couple in the same binding, presumbly part of the same set, today. Flicking through them, I spotted one had a bit of newspaper in, which pleased me because I love finding other people's receipts and shopping lists and random bookmarks in old books.

It's an extract from Wells' autobriography, printed in the the Sunday Times,

October 7

1934.

I have a bit of 75 year old newspaper! ^_______^

Also, some 75 year old books (well, 76, according to the date inside). But I have awesome old newpaper cutting!
