I'm a wuss...
1/7/03 08:21 pmAnd worse than that, I'm an unfit wuss.
I went to Kung Fu with Roz today. Loved theKung Fu bit. I punch like a girl (don't comment ^_^), but i can kick and block. It was great fun, and I need a hobby that keeps me fit.
But the warmup? Oooh dear... See, it's quite a small room, and there were about sixty people. It's been damn hot all day, and the windows are tiny anyway. Since there were so many people, and since it's at the point where there are very few newbies, the guy decided to work us extra hard.
The long and the shrot of it? I threw up. nOt in the gym, no, in a loo nearby, but we were just about to start the actual Kung Fu and started ot feel dizzy. Roz asked if I was okay, i gave a weak smile. She commented on hte fact my eyes were bloodshot. I mentioned I couldn't see... Asked if I was okay again, definite no. Suggested I sit down. Did so, muttered 'I think I'm going to be sick' and we hurried out oft en room. You're supposed to bow,, but my hand was firmly clamped over my mouth.
... and yeah, that was far more detail than any of you wanted to hear. ^_^ I want to go again, but it's a long way (thinking of taking trains next time), and I really need to get fitter first. R suggested I go to Friday sessions, since they're just practice and generally easier, but I've already kidnapped one of mum's only two free evenings by going to the Tuesday session, I don't want to steal Fridays as well. Plus, i like Fridaynight tv XP
So, plan: go to gym a lot over the summer, stop wimping aout when it comes to working on arms (I have no upper body strength, I've never wanted any, but I'll be damned if I'll go through that pressup hell again. Just being able to do one would be nice...), find a gym closer to both of us that offers Kung Fu and see if R would like to switch, start again next term. I like plans and lists, and things that make it look like I'm oging to put effort in and do impressive stuff, when chances are I'll forghet within a week and never do Kung Fu again.
Hey, if i hadn't thrown up I'd have passed out, and at least I joined in again later on.

Date: 2/7/03 12:06 am (UTC)There will be much gymming before I go back, methinks. Roz did say he was working us extra hard, and inretrospect I should have been able to keep up a little better, but I couldn't understand what he was asking us to do half the time.
^_^ Part of you is going 'bwahaha', isn't it? Myaybe just the evil chibi part, but definitely a part of you XD

Date: 2/7/03 08:47 am (UTC)Been wandering around Sussex Uni. I did mention it several times yesterday. Realyl nice place, actually, though 60s architecture means the buildings are shaped liked things, i.e. library like a book, arts block like a butterfly, student union like a camera... random.
