What I want totally depends on which fandom you're writing in, just to be awkward.
I suppose, generally, I'm happy with anything in moderation. Angst, fluff, kink, etc. As long as it makes sense within the fandom and the fic, I don't really mind. I mostly prefer happy endings, but I also enjoy ambiguous ones, and endings that are happy only from a certain point of view.
I cheerfully read sash, femslash, het, gen, threesomes, and most things, so don't worry about squicking me that way. Same goes for things like BDSM and incest, but I'd rather not have any non-con or watersports/scat.
I like a bit of showing off from authors: well done twists, language games, everything coming together in unforeseen ways (or everything falling apart), pop culture and classical references, and so on. If you've got it, flaunt it.
For better ideas, I direct you to my fic journal,
femmdelalune, and what I wrote for last year's yuletide, which I'd link you to, but of course the archive's gone. Sorry for deliberately requesting fic in some genres I've never written for!
Like all yuletide participants, really, I'll just be thrilled to be receiving a fic. I believe that the best writing is when someone is doing what they want with the piece and enjoying it ^_^
