UPS apparently came by yesterday to give me the dress I ordered, but missd me, so here I am, spending all day inside waiting for them, so I can hand over £22 (for tax and brokerage, which the nice lady at UPS informed me was a charge that could have been avoided) for something I already paid £25 postage on. Snippy emails have been sent. This dress was going to be one of the most expensive items of clothing I owned at £35, let alone £80.

The morning thus far, excluding snippy emails, has been spent concluding that I don't need a new phone, and that my next MP3 player is going to be one of those cheapo 4gig ones from Currys for £30. MP3 player phones are not worth it, and nor are most other phones: I don't need a camera, or video, or 3G, or internet... And hey, mine's lasted me over four years already without a single glitch, bug, or freeze.

I <3 St Nick's Fields, wth butterflies and fruit and random stone circles, and I <3 the good weather (though not today, when I'm waiting for UPS). Also, finding Beauty and the Beast one video for £1.50 yesterday (since Disney have stopped doing the DVDs altogheter). I hate carsickness, which returned once again when I went to drop Mike's eMac off for him at Clifton Moor (CM makes me feel worse than anywhere else in York, in a car, but so does the hot weather and I'm not looking forwards to being driven from Norwich to Beccles in August, even if it is much better than home to Beccles). I hate some other stuff too, I forget what. Doing nothing, waiting to start work. Finding I've spent over £80 on a dress. And still not getting my Avengers DVDs. That last deserves a snippy email too, since they should have arrived last week, and haven't even been shipped yet.

I do <3 my phone though, my little, basic, four year old phone that has never gone wrong. Which will now, like the last time I appreciated it, go missing somewhere, because that's how the universe works.

How on earth are they charging you extra for that? Bah.

Norwich to Beccles isn't very far, but the dual carriageway in that direction runs out just outside of Norwich and if you get stuck behind something agricultural, it can take a while. Have you tried the herbal travel sickness pills? I find they're quite good, probably because they're really chalky and stomach-settling.

I keep meaning to ask and forgetting - did you get the text I sent you on your birthday? (I tried calling, but it said you phone was switched off.) I got a text from you saying "Do you need a lift from the station" a couple of days afterwards, which confused me until I checked the date on it, so that made me wonder. Just in case you didn't get it, I woke up with a horrible case of the lurgi and so I couldn't come - really sorry I missed it. :( I've got your birthday present here, though! I know you told me not to get one, but, well, it's your 21st. And you can't stop me. :P

That's funny my phone kept telling me yours was turned off. I was worried about what had happened to you; I never did get your text. Are you free to come down (or up, if your in Surrey) at some point soon? It'd be good to see you.

I'm still up in Durham and will be for the foreseeable future (bar visits to Surrey to see my Grandpa, who's just had his bypass op, but I don't know if/when those will be so I'm ignoring it for now.) I'm working 9:30-4:30 Mon-Fri at the moment, but I'd definitely be available for weekend visits! Probably not this weekend or the one after, but otherwise I should be free. How about you?

I'm working Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Saturday, and volunteering/working on Sundays, so Monday and Friday are my days off, alas. I can take a Sunday off, so maybe a Saturday evening-Monday Morning visit would work? I'm on holiday 10-19th, but other than that I'm in york.
