Yuletide fic for Dec 19th: 5570

Oops. And I've ended up with a fandom I've never actually encountered the canon of. But it's fun, and it's going to be long. I've not written fic in ages. Well, I did a bit at the write in (Caff&Sach) but it needs poking before posting, and I don't really want to DL it from gmail when I'm about to wipe my computer. Same goes for Greenhelm, but also because I hit a hard bit.

Really, I'm quite enjoying this, even if my exploration of canon keeps turning up stuff that really doesn't fit with what I had in mind. There's some rather awkward shoehorning, but it's mostly okay. I just... I like fic. It requires a different frame of mind to original stuff. It's got a different sort of freedom. It's a pairing I wouldn't have thought of writing, but after exploring some similar fics I can see how it would work, and it's really quite sweet. It's also quite probable, accoridng to the rumour mill (well, maybe not as a romantic relationship). I'm also quite enjoying the chance to show off my Englishness, which is nice in an American fandom. I get to write heart-wrenching without having to worry about the set up - I assume reader's will know the bomb that's about to be dropped - and I can take a new angle of a character that makes sense considering recent events (and disguises the fact I've never written her before). Present tense might have been a mistake, but I'll probably stick to the alternating points of view, since they're sounding pretty distinct.

I also keep drawing pictures from it, because both characters are quite fun (though I'm terrible at drawing anything other than European eyes), and I can play with being stylised. I'll scan them at some point (when my computer is all better), though obviously they'll give away what fandom I'm writing for. FLock is my friend.

My recipient hasn't done a letter to santa. I keep forgetting hir username, which doesn't help.
Oh christ, there are 12 pages of comment-linked letters.

I should probably do one, for whoever's getting irritated at me for not giving more guidance. This is insanely late.

I'm fine with most kinks, though I like warning and I like them to make sense in context. If well written, I can be talked around to most things. I don't want to see rape or non-consensual sex: it's not that they can't be good in the right sort of story (I mean in terms of characterisation and plot, not hotness) but it's not really what I want for Christmas, Santa.

Ideally, something light and fluffy. Levels of sexiness are entirely up to you. Ideal characters are in the notes, for the most part. I picked a bunch of fandoms I haven't really read for years, so I'm pretty free and easy when it comes to interpretations of canon. If you've got Song for Arbonne, there's a fic on my fannish website (FemmeDeLaLune), to give you an idea of what I like. There might be some BMB up there too (I can't even remember if I requested that now).

Mostly, enjoy yourself!

You know what's cool? Looking through the Dear Santa links and seeing names I recognise. None from my recipient, though. Oh well; freedom is nice!
