23/1/06 10:43 amToast did the half marathon yesterday. Came in under 1h50, which is very impressive. Unfortunately, it meant that we didn't get there in time to see him come in! :( It was a real shame. But now he has a jumper and everything, and is deserving of much praise. I don't think I could run one mile, let alone 13.1
Which Country has the Best kittens?
I realised two things at anime last night. Firstly, the reason I'm having trouble getting along with FMA is because Ed and Al are (to borrow a phrase) "thick as two short planks held together with stupid glue". Most of the audience had figured out by the end of the first intro spiel that 'equivalent exchange' meant a life for a life. It's interesting that they might be overturning this at the point we've reached, but it still doesn't help me feel any sympathy at all for the brothers.
Secondly, Trinity Blood. Vampire priests. Robot priests. Fleurs de Mal. Telepaths. Rosenkreuz...
I need to find out who made this anime, because right now I'm thinking it might be enjoying an in-joke about being a sequel to Weiss Kreuz. Apparently Rosenkreuz was doing genetic work on people before the armageddon, which sounds promising. But research shall happen later.
Presentation! Meep!

Director is Tomohiro Hirata. He did not work on Weiss.

In fact, looking at the info site for TB, none of the main guys worked on Weiss. The character designs originate from THORES Shibamoto's illustrations for the original novels. As far as they go, they follow various conventions (eg Abel is a fairly typical silver-haired bishounen, round glasses type, see Ilpalazzo etc).
It's not that there aren't parallels, I'm just of the opinion that they're due to anime convention and coincedence rather than any deliberate attempts to make them similar.
