A little while ago, when I was competing with apparently quite a large group of fans to get the most recent TT tpb, I mentioned to Toast they must think I'm a bit obsession in Travelling Man. To which he replied and they'd be right that the real sign I need to worry was when I got there and they invited me into the backroom and gave me a cup of tea while I browsed.

Today, one of the guys in there told me he'd seen me in town, and had almost come up to me to tell me the shipment was delayed.

I can almost taste that tea ^_^

I think that, making a sweeping generalisation, geeks/nerds are generally more friendly people. When your interests are a little esoteric you're more likely to be friendly towards anyone who shares them. More people have started conversations with me in TM than any other shop, and it's the only place where the guys know my name (though, to be fair, I've never given my name to many other shops). The employees in the Spar probably recognise me now, but they don't show it particularly. The comic fandoms online seem to be the friendliest and most welcoming I know as well.
