minervasoloBuying underwear probably shouldn't be self-affirming, or whatever. I've also got to get used to the idea that in all probability at some point in the future it's not just going to be me that gets to see it.

parent arrived at 2, which was against all plans. Haircut at 3, assumed to last half an hour. parents fouond me while waiting, planned to meet at 4. haircut started about 15 minutes later than appointment and lasted hour and a quarter longer than I thought it would. Sweet little trainee with my name, but slow at cutting. Eventually met parents, wandered to campus and taxi back to town for dinner. Parents then, as usual, seemed to have schemed to get me drunk, since it is now one sherry, two glasses of wine and three vodkas-and-lemonades later. Played two hours of dominoes at Rook and Gaskell, which has brilliant live music and will definitely have to be designated local.
Tomorrow we go to York Museum, and maybe Castle museum (if they are not one and the same) and then some caves near harrogate, then harrogate. Wednesday we go home and I all but disappear from the internet for about ten days.
Why do parents feed me so much alcohol?
