So, we found a house we like today. Apologies for typos, my fingers are very very stiff. Cold, you know. Anyway, house. Dinky little terraced thing at the end of a road. Perfect distance between uni and town (very near work, woo!). Thin kitchen, but reasonably sized bedroom and an alright bathroom. Apparently there are four other people looking at contracts, but we don't know if this means one part of four or four parties. Either way, we're running down to the accomodation office first thing tomorrow, then getting it all signed (and cheques written for deposit) and to her before lunch. Which means I have to get up. Guh.

Having not been a hundred percent this morning, spending four hours hiking around in the cold with not enough layers probably wasn't the brightest idea. Right now I'm claiming sugar low, or something like, for the sudden hit of ugh. I'm sure i'll be fine. Really really don't want to bother with mag meeting tonight though. But have to, guh.

It'll be nice if we get this place. She wants £212 deposit and £212 first month's rent from all of us. Rent has to be post-dated cheque but deposit can be cash. I have a worm on my comp, so I daren't go and fiddle with stuff on internet banking (even though i already have since getting it, since I didn't know it was a worm) and she'll have to wait for the rent. Need to call home and find out how to get rid of worm. Need to sleep. May forfeit dinner, and it involves too much effort just now.

I'm sure you know but very very careful and don't let the prespective landlady hassle/panic etc. you. Make sure you ask for an inventory etc... yadda yadda yadda... I'm sure you've heard this all before... but be careful!

It all looks pretty good. Problem is it's in such a good position it's going to be a battle to get it.

Good luck with the house! I just went through it a few weeks ago myself and the stress still hasn't entirely dissipated. Speed seems to be the key to getting the place you want, though :) I'll keep my fingers crossed for you, for luck.

Feel better, and eat something, if you can. I always think not eating won't matter, but I'm always mistaken!

:)

thanks for the luck. We may need it!

I think i'm going to go for low maintenance dinner, which would appear to be rasberries, strawberries and creme fraiche. And pre-emptive Lemsip. ^_^

That's a good rent for York, well done finding it. When you move in, make sure that you take photographs of all the rooms before you move any of your stuff in. This will protect your bonds at the end of your tenancy. I'm sure you knew this already, but thought I'd mention it just in case :)

cheers! We're getting a bit worried now that we won't get that house, but still hopeful.
