My sister, her friend Sara, and Jake, our house guest, went out to a party ast night. Party was of one of Clo's mates from Air Training Corps. Only 9 people turned up. Sara and Jake buggered off back to Sara's house, leaving my darling sis at ickle party. Jake is four years older than Sara - I think this ought to bug me, but it doesn't. No doubt it'll bug her parents a bit. Anywho, sisyter stayed at party overnight. Alas, party host had to be back on base by seven, nad wanted house cleared. up. End result: sister in town at 7am. She was g0ing to stay, but it was cold and nowhere was open. And the buses weren't running. So darling child walked home. Took her an hour, in a teeny skirt and midriff top, along paths occasionally frequented (oh, oxymoron!) by rapists, murderers etc. And now she's curled up on hte couch with coffee and cartoons, which is how I found her this morning.

Saw pirates of the Carribean the other day. Suddenly much of Del's pirate ranting makes much more sense. Arrr! And all that ^_^ I haven't seen Johnny Depp have that much fun in a role since he did The Last Ever Fast Show Part 4 (3?). And Orlando Bloom can act, which was a pleasant surprise.

Much read fanfiction. I have been neglecting many long standing fics. Then, must write fanfiction. This is what happens when i have two or three multiparts happening at once: none of them get written. Also, must write origfic. Need someone nice and 'mainstream' to enter for the story competition, and to work on novel more. Especially planning, since the third and second parts are too similar and lacking in plot.

I can't do 'mainstrem'. Help me?

Found a new webcomic, yes I did, yes I did. Frightmore University. Read the character bios, but don't think too much about them. They almost put me off, but it is funny.

Building another website, yes I am, yes I am. OFor origfic and stuff, just not stuff I think i have a hope in hell of ever getting published, at least not without getting other stuff published first. Need a decent name for it, though. Site theme is black, white and grey, sort of altered graveyard images. I like it so far (always a good sign ^_^ ). btw, having started to get on with rewriting bits of Greenhelm, if anyone wants to read hte first few chapters, it could probably do with a once over. Typical sword and sorcery fantasy, i'm afriad. I can't read that genre any more - every book is a rehash of the same old story. As is Greenhelm, but at least I acknowledge it. See, later books are different, but I need the foundation. But there will be a democratic government, and servants saving the day (but not becoming nobles in the process) and morally ambiguous bad guys, and good guys who aren't built like Schwarzenegger... You ever noticed those trends? Fantays novels always have a king, or Emperor, or Duke or whatever. Always a fuedal system. Never a democracy. And the good guys are brawny, and the bad guys are brainy (reverse of Sci Fi, someone once noted). Intelligence is loked on with suspicion, and usually leads to try to take over the throne or similar. Only nobles, or people who become nobles, are ever the stars. No farm boy remains a farm boy. And And the bad guys like being evil.

... no wonder literary critques look on Fantasy as a trashy genre. Though trying to insist Sci Fi is the same is blasphemy! Sorry, been reading way to many rants on that subject, from disgruntled Sci Fi authors. If it's a good book, it can't be Sci Fi. It's 'speculative fiction' or 'future based action-adventure' or 'socio-political speculations'. Which are all basically Sci Fi. So there nuuh. :P

Anyway, yes, site building and book writing and comic hunting. tumtetum.

Is it wrong to fall in love with your own site design?

Esecially when you nicked most of it from someone else entirely?

Okay, so it's a pretty basic layout that I've seen on several sites, but I'm very very pleased with how this has all turned out. Very, um, grey, with a photoshopped stone angel. And that's basically it. Grey, white writing, angel. And I don't want to put it up til i have a name for it, dammit. It's sole purpose for existing is so I'm not lying when I put on the UCAS form that I have a website displaying some of my original writing (it's pretty sparse, but I surprised myself by having at lesat two items in each category without even trying). I was going to call it Amarantine Dreams, excepts this thing kinda nicked the name, and the layout and colours are all wrong for that anyway (Amaranth was a purple mythological flower. Grey just isn't right).

Whatever it is, it's Version Apocalypse, thanks to the poem on the entrance.

Less than a days work, that was. It'll need tweaking (an updates page and hit counter spring to mind first and foremost, as well as perhaps a bit more playing with the look of the links) but overall, I'm most pleased with that. Yes I am.
